April 2010

This month sees two gigs - at the Boat, Penalt, just over the river from the village of Redbrook on the Gloucestershire/Monmouthshire border.  This is a tiny pub, but great craic to be had and can get very crowded (which is OK if it's not raining, as everyone just sits outside and listens to what's going on inside!).  Following that, we're once more at the Cross Keys, Gloucester, where we played last November.  Meantime, we've got drum tracks laid down now for 4 tracks for our new album and we're continuing to build on these.  We're intending to have 12 tracks ready for release later in 2010, ideally 4 each from Mike, Mike and Jane.  We've got 8 definites and several possibles, which will be honed down for final choice by mid-summer.

We've just taken delivery of our new band banner too - which will get its debut most probably at the Cross Keys.

March 2010

We're playing Cafe Rene on Friday 12th March 2010 - this great Gloucester city centre venue is ideal for us, encouraging original music bands of all genres.  We're on late @ 11pm, so grab some sleep at work before coming into town and seeing a great show!

Jane Pearl returned from the USA on March 3rd & joined us again for "MintSauceFest", the first festival in the area for 2010, where we got a tremendous reception from the lively crowd there.  ... and we got more airplay from BBC Radio Gloucester to promote us!

Later in March on 18th we have a new gig at the Beehive, Swindon, plus our old haunts @ The Miners & Cross Keys.

Oh, and recording for the new album has now commenced in earnest... more guide tracks are being laid down for some adventurous new numbers from the pens of Mike, Mike and Jane... with Lyndon's superb production we just know you're going to love this one!

Feb 2010

First guide tracks for the second album being laid down in Lyndon's Monmouth Studio...

Mike Edwards played an acoustic set at Cinderford Acoustic Club on feb 6th.... link to the videos coming shortly...

Jan 2010

2 gigs and a surprise guest on 16th at Chepstow for the electric line-up.  Josh Beddis made his first appearance, depping for Sam who had work commitments on the night.  Excellent work Josh!   Planning for the next Rigadoo! album will now commence...

Dec 2009

A Sunday acoustic session at the 3 Tuns, Chepstow -  the 2 Mikes plus Lyndon took the stage for an acoustic session, which was pretty laid back, though some of the power numbers made an appearance to keep everyone awake.  We also added some Christmas songs and a couple of old chestnuts (roasting on an open fire).  Despite Mike Mullan having post-swine flu tonsils, we made it through the night!

Nov 2009

Rigadoo's album, "Follow the River" received several airplays on Forest of Dean Radio through November.

We also got reviewed at BBC Gloucester's "Introducing" website ! Read it here!

We had a great gig at the Cross keys, Gloucester City Centre -  The old pub, set in a back street just off the city centre, was backdrop for a memorable night on 12th November, when many of our friends and followers from the Forest turned out to support us - as well as a bunch of ghost hunters who were pausing for refreshments on their rounds of the historic city!  This was Jane Pearl's last gig with us before she jets off to her home state of kentucky to see her family for 3 months or so.  But don't worry, folks, she'll be back in March 2010 and in the meantime, we have some energy packed outings which will still be exciting (not in the least because we intend to play some of Jane's numbers for her whilst she's gone...)

Oct 2009 -

We've got a spot at Zombiefest, Coleford!  This Halloween-themed autumn rockfest has a "Munsters of Folk" stage set up at the Angel Inn, Coleford Market Square, and you'll be able to see Rigadoo members do their stuff acoustically from 3pm - 4.30 pm on Saturday 31st Oct 2009.

On Sat 10th October, Rigadoo featured in BBC Radio Gloucester's "INTRODUCING" show, presented by Rob Champion.  "Credit Crunch Blues" featured as the programme's opening number and got some nice compliments from Rob.  Thanks Rob!  Link available until 17th Oct : http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p004mc10

Oct 2nd at the Miners Arms in Whitecroft - Rigadoo! played a great informal night .  Host Mario told us he enjoyed the night so much that he had to take a holiday in the sun afterwards.  Lyndon introduced some blinding rythmn chops into some of the songs, and despite Mike E's best efforst to sabotage some numbers, it all went off amazingly well.
