Band History
Rigadoo! formed as a recording project in September 2008 when Mike Edwards left the Outcast Band to perform his own songs.
The album "Follow The River" was quickly conceived from Mike's vast range of songs. The initial challenge was whether to include Mike's more acoustic, political and humorous material, which he'd played in folk clubs and pubs, or whether to go for a band sound and to work on the more serious material.
Some early production work with Lyndon Webb in his studio convinced Mike that he had a selection that deserved a band production, and the Rigadoo! project began to take shape in November 2009.
Mike and Lyndon were joined in the studio by Sam Jones (a young drummer from Redbrook, who Mke spotted playing at an Open Mic night in the Forest). Once the Guide tracks had been augmented with Sam's strong drumming, good friends Jane Pearl & Mike Mullan (from 1 Two Many) were recruited to supply more vocals, at which point we realised we had a veritable powerhouse line-up, capable of mixing it with the best at festivals & big gigs. Mike Mullan has written 2 songs for the album, and we now offer an eclectic mix of high energy music.
We hope to see you soon at a pub or festival near you!
